It is so wonderful that you have the resources to do so. I know I would love to find my daughter's foster family but it seems for the average person, their need to disconnect from us prevails. Maybe someday this won't be so.
I have appreciated the work you do in providing as much of the past for our daughters are you do.
Thank you.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15636692.post-1144975134155988492006-04-13T17:38:00.000-07:002006-04-13T17:38:00.000-07:00Hi Brian,Love your blog. Our solution came unexpectedly as someone left goggles on the side of the pool. he tried them on and put his face in the water and discovered he could see underwater! He forgot all about being afraid!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15636692.post-1134510741440896892005-12-13T13:52:00.000-08:002005-12-13T13:52:00.000-08:00I've spent the pass few hours reading your blog an...I've spent the pass few hours reading your blog and I am in awe. Thanks for sharing that story, it has inspired me to push to learn as much as I can on my upcoming trip to China. I will be leaving in 3 weeks to bring home my daughter, who is living in foster care in Nanchang. Stella Yao is nearly 2. She has already survived being abandoned at 4 months, heart surgery at 10 months, and now she will be leaving the only family she has ever known. My heart is heavy even as the joy spills out in anticipation of her arrival to our home. Thank you for inspiring me to make every connection I can while in China, including writing a thank you letter to the foster family now.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13441809988487585009noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15636692.post-1129217638770398042005-10-13T08:33:00.000-07:002005-10-13T08:33:00.000-07:00Brian,Wow, how incredible that you finally found t...Brian,
Wow, how incredible that you finally found the foster family and got to meet them. And Lan is such an amazing woman to pursue finding them for you and having it be your anniversary present. Congratulations to the two of you.
The DVD and information you found for our family from Fuzhou/Linchuan is so priceless and has helped our 8 year old understand so much more about her first 7 1/2 months of life in China. And it helped me realize that when I had used the word foster mother for all these years that in her mind she was thinking birth mother. When she saw the video of her and recognized her from the pictures we have, then she verbalized to me that it was her birth mother. I never realized that she didn't understand the meaning of foster mother. She also expressed her thanks for having us as her family and for living in our house.
You do such amazing work.
Thank you and Lan so much,
Denee Frazer
mom to Angelica and AutumnAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15636692.post-1128718828305008632005-10-07T14:00:00.000-07:002005-10-07T14:00:00.000-07:00Brian,Thank you for sharing with us these importan...Brian,
Thank you for sharing with us these important parts of your daughters' lives.
